About these images

The images on this site were - with one obvious exception - taken using a Nikon D200 digital single lens reflex camera.  The images have been  captured in Nikon RAW format, providing the 'negative' which is 'developed' into an image for displaying and printing using Nikon Capture NX 2 software.  No 'unnatural acts' have been performed on these images   with software such as Photoshop - a tool I neither desire nor can afford!

To me, the art of the print is to capture what my eye saw through the viewfinder - nothing more, nothing less.


About the photographer

An enthusiastic amateur with an eye for a picture and a weakness for trees.  I've always enjoyed capturing on film the images I see with my eyes - a passion that started with a Brownie 127 and has recently come of digital age with the D200.  Along the way, a Zenit E, a Miranda Sensomat and the still beautiful Olympus OM-1.
